The wit, philosophy and activism of acclaimed actress, poet and playwright Beah Richards are captured in There’s A Brown Girl In The Ring,

In her last work Richards, who passed in 2000, reveals her intuitive views on human rights, the creative process, healing, race, the status of women, the artist’s role, language, loving and aging.  Beah wrote the collection of essays with writer, actor and filmmaker S. Pearl Sharp, who adapted them for the stage as a concert reading for four voices.
